Vancouver,
WA - August
2, 2005 LaserGrade announced today that the
Refrigerating Engineers and Technicians Association (RETA)
has entered into an agreement to begin administering two of
RETA's certifications, the Certified Assistant Refrigeration
Operator (CARO) and the Certified Industrial Refrigeration
Operator (CIRO). Both examinations will be delivered via
LaserGrade’s secure proctored test network. LaserGrade, with
secure computer-based testing centers across the United States and Canada, is
the largest United States owned and operated network in North
America.
Judith Moore, President and CEO of LaserGrade, said,
“We are happy to have RETA as a new client. RETA is a fast
growing association dedicated to providing education and
training to their more than 3,000 members. LaserGrade is
proud to be a part of a process that helps protect the
public and sets high standards for health and public
safety.”
Don Tragethon, Executive Director, RETA stated, “RETA
is delighted to be partnering with LaserGrade to bring this
value added program to our membership and industry. CARO,
the entry-level examination is based on information in
RETA’s training materials focusing on safety and basic
refrigeration. CIRO verifies mastery of more advanced
refrigeration concepts. LaserGrade will help us fairly and
accurately measure the knowledge and skills of our
candidates.”
In addition to RETA’s certification program, RETA’s
network of chapters provides peer-to-peer teaching
opportunities, as well as an opportunity for fellowship with
others in the trade. RETA is currently preparing to apply to
the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) for
accreditation of their certification program.
