NASM Frequently Asked Questions
1. Is there a prerequisite or pre-approval
for taking the exam?
Yes. You
must be pre-approved by the
National Academy of Sports Medicine. You must also have a valid CPR
and AED Certification card.
2. Where can I obtain study materials?

3. Is there a practice test available?
Currently, there is not a practice test for
this exam.
4. What materials may I bring into the test
center?
You are not allowed to bring materials or
belongings
into the testing room.
5. How long do I have to pass the test?
You have 120 days from your registration date
to register for and attempt your Certification Exam. Once you
begin, you will have 2 hours to complete your examination attempt.
6. Can I see which questions I answered
incorrectly?
Upon completion, you will be given a PASS /
FAIL status.
7. If I fail the exam, how long do I have to
wait before retesting? Will
I have to pay to retest?
You will need to contact NASM 800-460-6276 to re-apply to take the exam an additional time.
You will be required to pay an additional fee to re-test
8. If I miss my appointment, do I have to
pay again to reschedule?
If you do not give 24-hours notice, you will
forfeit your test fee.
You will be required to pay the exam fee again to reschedule.
