CMSC Frequently Asked Questions
1. Is there a prerequisite or pre-approval
for taking the exam?
You
must be pre-approved by Professional Testing Corporation (PTC).
They will forward your name to LaserGrade.
It is suggested that candidates have a minimum
of one year of experience in providing services for individuals with
multiple sclerosis. Candidates must meet the following requirements:
1.Be a licensed (or equivalent) health care professional.
2.Complete and file an Application for the Multiple Sclerosis
Specialist Certification Examination.
3.Pay the required fee.

3. Is there a practice test available?
Currently, there is not a practice test for
this exam.
4. What materials may I bring into the test
center?
None.
5. How long do I have to pass the test?
You may take the exam only once per exam
period
6. Can I see which questions I answered
incorrectly?
Candidates will be notified in writing by PTC within
six weeks of the close of the testing period whether they have
passed or failed the examination.
Scores on the major areas of the examination and on the total
examination will be reported. Successful
candidates will also receive certificates from the CMSC.
7. If I fail the exam, how long do I have to
wait before retesting? Will
I have to pay to retest?
You
will need to contact PTC to re-test
You will be required to pay an additional fee to re-test
8. If I miss my appointment, do I have to
pay again to reschedule?
If you do not give 24-hours notice, you will
forfeit your test fee.
You will be required to pay the exam fee again to reschedule.
